Community supervision program

Our organization participates in community supervision activities for offenders (390 individuals). Assistance and support interventions are determined based on the progress of the intervention plan and the various needs related to the offender’s social reintegration.

Our services are intended for adult clients who have one of the following legal statuses:

  • Probation order
  • Suspended prison sentence
  • Parole certificate
  • Preparatory release for parole

Our mandate

  • Support and supervise the referred individual;
  • Offer and provide services that meet their needs as part of their social reintegration process;
  • Encourage and support the involvement of community supporters who can contribute to the social reintegration of the referred individual;
  • Monitor the referred individual in accordance with the guidelines and policies of the Correctional Services Branch (CSB);
  • Inform the community relations officer (CRO) of the referred person’s progress and report any breaches or situations or events that could lead to changes in the conditions of supervision;
  • Produce the reports required for file management;
  • Manage legal measures in the event of a breach;
  • Appear before the court or the CQLC upon request.

Here are some examples of the support provided to clients:

  • Visiting inmates at the Hull Detention Center.
  • Visiting individuals involved in legal proceedings at their homes.
  • Visiting individuals during hospital stays.
  • Accompanying individuals to specific appointments (doctor, pharmacy, CLSC, etc.).
  • Accompanying individuals involved in legal proceedings to court appearances.
  • Cooperation with referral agencies to ensure quality follow-up.
  • Flexible schedules and evening hours for meetings with individuals involved in legal proceedings who have jobs.
  • Testifying in court in certain cases.
  • Accompanying clients to various agencies such as CIPTO, Réhabex, etc.
