The mission of Agence sociale spécialisée de l’Outaouais Inc. (ASSO) is to promote the social reintegration of adult clients who have been in conflict with the law. Our community organization provides housing, supervision, support, and individualized follow-up. Our diverse programs enable clients to transition toward independence, respect for the law, and a sense of belonging in the community.
Goals and Objectives
In collaboration with our referral and community partners, we can meet the needs of our clients by offering services tailored to the issues identified.
Continue our work in line with an individualized intervention plan, i.e., one that takes into account the needs of offenders and their conditions of release.
Provide programs that aim to develop social skills that promote social reintegration; in other words, teach our clients to acquire values that are in line with the norms, laws, and regulations of our society.
Involve the community in the fulfillment of our mission.
Program Philosophy
In order to achieve our objectives and fulfill our mission, our intervention is inspired by a humanistic philosophy and focuses on the offender by providing support, assistance, and guidance in a structured and healthy environment. Our intervention program is also based on confidence in the offender’s ability to change, as well as our own confidence in our ability to equip them for better integration into society.
Our approach is also humanistic because it is first and foremost respectful of the person involved in the legal system and then focused on helping and encouraging them to learn to make informed life choices during and after their stay at the CRC. We believe that by encouraging individuals to take the necessary steps to avoid finding themselves in problematic situations again, they will be able to improve their quality of life and that of those around them, with the ultimate goal of protecting society.
