Personal and Social Development Program
This program aims to develop social skills that promote social reintegration.
Our program has been adapted to allow new residents to join the group at any time. This approach allows new residents to integrate into the group without delay and also to benefit from the experience gained by older members. Participants are assessed according to the following criteria: degree of participation, involvement, attitude, understanding, and change in both individual and group behavior. This innovative program also takes current events into account and promotes openness to the world.

Program for federal clients
Community access/study/volunteer program
As part of regular day parole, the community access/work/study/volunteering program is now a special condition granted by the National Parole Board.
Program goals and objectives
The program allows individuals incarcerated in penitentiaries to obtain an extension of their sentences in the community. This structured program allows parolees to reside in our community residential center (CRC) under more restrictive conditions. Beneficiaries who are required to follow the community access/work/study/volunteering program have the opportunity to volunteer with community resources in the Outaouais region, pursue studies, or work under supervision in the community. Volunteering within community resources aims to enable the incarcerated person to put into practice and consolidate the skills acquired through programs carried out in prison. The work may be remunerated when the granting of day parole with work as a condition is provided for this purpose.
The CRC living environment allows residents to focus on their release objectives in a strict and respectful setting. The support we offer will help them cope with the stress of adapting to a new environment. Community life within the residence promotes the development of pro-social values and behaviors.
Our services enable residents to acquire skills through a structured and supervised program. A team of Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) and ASSO staff is in place to support residents in achieving their goals and to facilitate their reintegration into society.
Cultural and sports activities program
ASSO has developed a program of cultural and sports activities. We believe it is important to plan activities outside the CRC.
Residents have the opportunity to participate in cultural and sports activities on a weekly basis. The activities are supervised by one or more CRC staff members.
The activities have the following learning objectives:
- Broaden horizons by visiting tourist attractions in our region;
- Enable the acquisition of healthy lifestyle habits through sports activities;
- Promote learning about new cultures and technological advances;
- Participate in special events that characterize our region.
- Develop friendships and a sense of belonging among residents;
- Encourage exchanges with members of our community.
